Torrent Files

Torrent files (files that end in ".torrent") are small metadata files that contain instructions on where to retrieve the various pieces that make up a larger file (such as an audio, video, or other large file).

The .torrent file is essentially a map that automatically finds and assembles the different pieces of the desired file. Once you find a .torrent file to download, you simply click to start the process. The .torrent file is saved to your computer and the BitTorrent client you use then begins the process of finding and acquiring the pieces of the file that comprise the file you are trying to obtain.
